Pregnant Skin Care
Just as you’ll be thinking about your baby, so you should also pay some attention to your skincare routine – if you already have one you may want to modify it, and if you never really had one, you might want to give your skin a boost during this time and think about your skincare. Pregnant women can certainly experience stressful times and your skin will reflect whatever emotional state you’re in, likewise your diet is bound to have an effect on the way your skin looks or feels.
One of my best friends is going through her fifth month of pregnancy right now and she says she can really feel the changes coming on; much more so than earlier. Hormonal changes affect almost every part of your body from your hair and skin to feet and ankles and everything in between! Mums-to-be can adjust their daily skin care routine to take account of these changes. She really loves the Burt’s Bees range of body and skin care products. She discovered Burts Bees when she visited with friends in California earlier this year and when she knew she was expecting she remembered they also have products for mums to be and their babies (actually, it’s a fabulous range of products all round so use it even if you’re not pregnant!)
It’s not all about products for her – she’s a real stickler for doing things naturally, but these are such lovely products she has no qualms using them. The one item she has a real thing about at the moment is the Mama Bee Belly Butter . It contains cocoa butter and vitamin E which really soothes and smooths. She’s determined to get rid of any stretch marks before they get a hold!
